On Sunday, January 19, 2025, Cambodia University of Management and Technology (CUMT), in collaboration with Kepentas, conducted a public speaking workshop in Malay and English at the CUMT building, Phnom Penh.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop, H.E Dr. Sles Nazy, the Rector, welcomed the delegates and speakers from​  ​Kepentas and the participants from ​ institutions, Islamic schools and students who participated with their knowledge of Malay and English.

Speaking further in the program, H.E Dr. Sles Nazy, said that the workshop on speaking Malay and English is very important and valuable, especially on the Malay language, which has many similarities to the Cham language of the Cambodian Muslim community because the two languages ​​belong to the same world and language family. His Excellency encouraged the participants to listen and try to absorb the knowledge and good experiences from the speakers in order to develop their capabilities. Finally, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude to Kepentas for choosing Cambodia to host this valuable public speaking workshop in Malay and English.

 Ms. Sandy Tan, Representative of Kepentas  said that the workshop aims to share methods, tips and experiences from experienced speakers on public speaking skills training, confidence and self-development tips. She hopes that all participants will gain knowledge on important tips related to this valuable topic. Finally, in the program, Kepantas officially announced its operations in Cambodia.

Kepentas is an international public speaking training club established ​​ in 2009 to help Malaysians, Indonesians and neighboring countries improve their public speaking skills in Malay. To date, Kepentas has established 40 branches in 6 countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and most recently Cambodia.
