Saudi Arabia Supports Higher Education in Cambodia with $80,000 Contribution to Cambodia University of Management and Technology(CUMT)


Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided approximately 80,000 USD in materials and equipment to the Cambodia University of Management and Technology (CUMT) through a grant agreement with Cambodian Muslim Intellectual Alliance. The grant is Funded by AL RAJHI ENDOWMENT aims to strengthen the university’s capacity to train higher education students and promote academic development in Cambodia.

This Contribution is a part of the Kingdom’s Humanitarian and Relief Efforts, represented by the King Salam Relief Center, to support the higher education sector in needy countries. It aims to develop the sector’s mechanisms and provide funds for academic programs and the education process.
CUMT, established by Cambodian Muslim intellectuals with support from the Al-Rajhi Endowment
Fund and coordinated by KS Relief, is the first higher education institution founded by the Cambodian Muslim community. The university was officially inaugurated on October 21, 2024, under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Hangchuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, representative of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun MANET, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
Since its establishment, CUMT has been dedicated to developing high-quality human resources
to meet Cambodia’s socio-economic needs.

KSRelief, oneof the Kingdom’s largest humanitarian organizations, continues to aid worldwide in social programs, humanitarian aid, emergency relief, health services, and human resource development.
In Cambodia, KSRelief had been helped CUMT and other humanitarian projects and now is also
exploring further initiatives, including support for the social sector, assistance to orphans, and aid
for low-income families.
