On the occasion of the 3rd ASEAN Regional Conference on the topic “Better Nations” which was organized from January 25 to 26, 2025 at Bangkok, Thailand, H.E Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, granted permission to H.E Dr. Hosen Mahamad Farid, President of the Board of trustees of the Cambodia University of Management and Technology and Advisor to the Ministry of Cults and Religion, to pay a courtesy call and discuss work.
In this valuable meeting, H.E Dr. Hosen Mohamad Farid expressed his gratitude and appreciation to
H.E Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Sheikh for his leadership efforts in organizing this valuable ASEAN Regional Conference on the topic “The Better Nation” to explain the source of the nation’s goodness and the great
contribution of humanity to the good, advocating for peace, justice, and the spread of goodness, which reflects the efforts and attention of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as its valued interest in promoting the concept of promoting a culture of tolerance and avoiding discrimination.
At the same time, H.E Dr. expressed his deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for providing
scholarships to Cambodian Muslim students over the past several years, which has led to a significant increase in the number of Muslim intellectuals and the development of human resources for the Cambodian Muslim community. As a result, H.E Dr. himself, a former student who graduated from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, initiated the establishment of the Cambodia University of Management
and Technology, which is the first university established by Cambodian Muslim intellectuals in
Cambodia and is supported by the Sheikh Saleh Al Rajhi Endowment Fund and coordinated by
the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
In this discussion, H.E. Dr. Hosen Mohamad Farid, as an advisor to the Ministry of Cults and Religion,
continued by saying: With the leadership of H.E. Chay Borin, Minister of Cults and Religion, and especially under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the situation of religious harmony in Cambodia is good, with unity and love for each other, without any racial discrimination. Speaking at the discussion, H.E Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia, praised the efforts to establish the first university of the Cambodian Muslim community and encouraged continued efforts to ensure that the university runs well and is sustainable for the long term. At the same time, H.E Minister urged the Cambodian Muslim community to
be more united and united to make progress in the development of the community and the
national society.
